Sklenarka resort

Sklenarka is a beautiful forgotten resort, surrounded by kilometers of forests.

This magical place could not be more ideal for the development of an alternative living space, it is secluded yet in reach of civilization and only four kilometers away from small town of Kostelec nad Orlici and a thirty from Hradec Kralove, making it approximately a hundred kilometers from Prague, the capital of Czech rep. It lies in the East-Bohemia region. 

The project which we are carrying out, is a project of ecological sociality, energetic and economic independency for these free grounds for life. We wish to offer room for those, who feel the need for personal development, self-understanding as well as spiritual growth. Our goal is to practically take use of alternative energetic solutions, permacultural principles when working with soil, using natural materials for reconstructions and economical models based on interaction and sharing. We are building an economically functional society of people who by their work and cooperation will eventually be able to offer enough food for all the members, right here on the site. There are three brick buildings lying approximately in the middle of the land, offering eight hectares of authentic park-style land arrangement. In the largest building, villa Sklenarka, we are developing a center with accommodation capacities, intended for meeting, relaxation, meditation and educational stays. In the other two buildings there are six flats for rent, intended for long-term campers, as also six cottages – which will also be available after a few minor and simple touch-ups. There is also a round, thirty meter pool and another small pool on the land which will serve as a getaway for kids. When spring comes, we will renew the original volleyball field as well as the children’s play ground along with a beautiful old merry-go-round. We plan to construct an onsite permanent stage and a natural amphitheatre for the production of concerts, theater and other shows for the public. We also plan on the construction of alternative buildings for the purpose of permanent residence as well as workshops, seminars and other activities. Of course, we count on producing our own vegetables and planting fruit trees, as well as tending our own livestock, in concord with the principles of permanently sustainable development.
